Our History

Liquidmetal® Coatings and Mechanical Solutions is proud of our rich past in the development of superior materials.

Over the 30 years of experience and technology collaboration in conjunction with NASA/DOD, we developed patented, next-generation, erosion, and corrosion-resistant amorphous technology. With the industry’s hardest, yet ductile coatings materials, we can eliminate weak points where other coatings normally fail.

Liquidmetal ® Coatings and Mechanical Solutions represents the family of companies that are comprised of Liquidmetal Coatings, LLC (“LMC), its subsidiary Liquidmetal Coatings Enterprises, LLC (“LMCE”), and its subsidiaries Liquidmetal Coating Solutions, LLC (“LMCS”) and Liquidmetal Welding, LLC (“LMW”).

1990's
Amorphous Metals and Metallic Glass Technology Development
In the 1990s Liquidmetal® Technologies (“LMT”) acquires patent rights that provide LMT with the exclusive right to commercialize amorphous alloys and other amorphous alloy technologies.
1990's
Early 2000's
Patents Earned
LMT continues to build a portfolio of patents of its own on different alloys, manufacturing processes, and usages of the amorphous metal and metallic glass materials.
Early 2000's
2007
Creation of Liquidmetal Coatings
LMT buys the thermal spray division of Foster Wheeler, renames it Liquidmetal® Coatings (“LMC”) and spins LMC out of LMT. C3 Capital makes its first investment in LMC which begins field application of amorphous metal coatings for power plants and other industrial customers. LMC also begins selling Armacor® branded amorphous materials directly to foreign customers.
2007
2013
Mechanical Solutions Division Formed
LMC obtains its "R-Stamp” and begins offering Mechanical Solutions.
